Paris Hilton’s Cryptoween
The Sandbox Halloween Event - October 2022
Cryptoween was a map made for Paris Hilton’s team as a showcase of her annual Halloween party. It featured a haunted mansion with different spooky-related quests, as well as a party on the very top with Paris as the DJ.
The main challenge of this map was the deadline. The project was handed to me already in October and I did the entire blockout, logic and narrative from scratch in under 3 weeks. It’s the fastest I have done a map this big.
Architecture and Themes
Paris’ team wanted to touch on Halloween’s themes while remaining true to the Paris Hilton IP and it’s typical trademarks - the pink colors, Juicy Couture clothing and her dogs, which play a part in one of the code quests.
The player spawns in the parking lot, where there are also some stone statues of Paris as an angel that slightly move. They must then climb to the top of the map into Slivington Manor. Slivington is shaped as a creepy Victorian house with a clock and tower on top, where the party is taking place. The mansion had to look creepy without giving the feeling that it was abandoned. Inside, several celebrities and personalities party dressed up as characters.
